I began writing during a difficult season in my life, and parts of Olivia grew from experiences I know personally.
I hope my story offers readers a place for reflection, encouragement, and the comfort of knowing they are not alone.

I’m J.R.H., and welcome! I give all credit to God. I wrote Olivia while I was going through depression and PTSD. Like many other people, I don’t like talking about what I went through so, I write. Some of what Olivia experiences, I went through. It took me a while to find my voice in writing at first but some help from God, and some of my teachers, I found it.

Every book begins somewhere personal. For J.R.H., Olivia grew from feelings and experiences she was still learning how to put into words. Writing gave her a way to explore those emotions and share a part of her journey through a character whose experiences echo some of her own.
